Application

  • Chemical Production: Acts as a raw material and chemical intermediate to manufacture formic acid, oxalic acid, and sodium hydrosulfite (insurance powder).
  • Leather Industry: Used as a tanning agent, catalyst, and camouflage salt in chrome tanning to help fix leather evenly.
  • De-icing Operations: Applied as a solid or liquid de-icer on airport runways and roads because it melts ice quickly and is less corrosive than traditional road salts.
  • Oil and Gas Extraction: Added to well-drilling and completion fluids to increase density, stabilize shale, prevent rust, and handle high downhole temperatures.
  • Construction and Concrete: Used as a set accelerator in cement and concrete mixtures to speed up hardening during colder weather.
  • Textiles and Paper: Acts as a buffering agent, pH regulator, and brightness-enhancing agent during fabric dyeing, printing, and cotton bleaching.
  • Detergents and Cleaning: Functions as an enzyme stabilizer and builder in various liquid and powder detergent formulations.

Storage

Environmental Conditions – Temperature: Ambient temperature is sufficient (recommended 5–30°C);

Humidity: Maintain low humidity; avoid high-humidity environments that could cause deliquescence, caking, or even liquefaction and loss of efficacy;

Storage Area: Dedicated warehouse; cool, dry, and well-ventilated; protect strictly from direct sunlight and keep away from heat sources.

Ensure packaging remains intact during stacking; protect against moisture and rain.

Incompatible Materials: Strong acids (reaction releases toxic formic acid gas) and strong oxidizing agents;

Do not store or transport together with food, animal feed, or household goods;

Avoid direct contact with water or moist air.
